Resilience Strategy

About the Lake Landing Resilience Strategy

Hyde County is developing a Resilience Strategy for Lake Landing as part of the Resilient Coastal Communities Program (RCCP), a program administered by the North Carolina Division of Coastal Management (DCM) and funded by the N.C. State Legislature and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. This project will evaluate current and future costal flood risks and vulnerabilities, assess the community’s capacity, and identify ways to adapt and become more resilient to flooding.

Phase 1: Community Engagement and Risk & Vulnerability Assessment

Through collaboration with local stakeholders, determine which critical assets, natural infrastructure, and other community resources are likely to be impacted by current and future coastal flood hazards.

Phase 2: Planning, Project Selection, and Prioritization

Based on the Phase 1 findings, develop a portfolio of comprehensive resilience projects/actions developed to help the community address and adapt to short – and long-term hazards.
